Volleyball Recognizes Seven Sophomores
Shelby, NC - On October 17, 2024, the Yetis played their final home match of the regular season, ending with a score of 1-3, with set scores of 25-14, 23-25, 25-13, and 25-20. This match at Cleveland Community College was especially significant as it was Sophomore Night, honoring the contributions of seven dedicated players. Although Cleveland fought hard to win the second set, they ultimately struggled to maintain that momentum. The match drew a full crowd, with enthusiastic fans and students creating an electric atmosphere in the stands. The community's support added to the excitement of the evening, making it a memorable experience for both players and supporters.
Sophomore Night honored seven players from Cleveland Community College: Chandler Jerome, Aziyah Rudisill, Angela Castillo, Daniela Castillo, Karlie Russell, Kassie Swink, and Taija Smith. Notably, six of these players were part of the inaugural season of the Yetis volleyball program, marking a significant milestone in the team's history.

Sara Rose Warlick stood out as the match's top performer, contributing 15 kills to her team's efforts. Aziyah Rudisill and Taija Smith also had strong performances, adding 13 and 11 kills, respectively. Their offensive skills played a crucial role in keeping the match competitive, particularly during their successful second set.
