Cleveland Triumphs Over Caldwell in Four Sets

September 10, 2024 - Shelby, NC - In an exciting volleyball match on Tuesday, the Cleveland Yetis emerged victorious over the #9 nationally ranked NJCAA DIII Caldwell Cobras with a 3-1 final score. The game, held at Cleveland Community College, showcased the home team's dominance as they secured set victories with scores of 25-16, 23-25, 25-20, and 25-18.

Cleveland demonstrated a well-rounded performance across all four sets, effectively utilizing their strengths to outplay Caldwell. Cleveland's attack was led by Aziyah Rudisill, who delivered a standout performance with 17 kills. Other key contributors included Sara Rose Warlick, who added 8 kills, and Chandler Jerome, who contributed 10 kills. Kassie Swink also reached 1,000 career assists with the Yetis during the match. 

Caldwell struggled to match Cleveland's intensity, particularly in their hitting efficiency. Laney Craig led Caldwell with 14 kills, but the team's overall offensive performance was hampered by a series of errors and inconsistencies. 

Cleveland capitalized on Caldwell's defensive lapses and offensive misfires. The home team's ability to maintain higher efficiency in their attacks and their strong defensive play, with 107 digs, proved crucial in securing their win. This win adds a positive note to the Yetis season and provides a valuable boost to their confidence.
