CCC Softball Sweeps Kaskaskia Blue Angels in Thrilling Doubleheader

Shelby, NC - The CCC Yetis secured a doubleheader sweep against the Kaskaskia Blue Angels, winning the first game 10-6 and following up with a dramatic 3-2 victory in the second.

Game 1: CCC Yetis 10, Kaskaskia Blue Angels 6

The opener was an offensive showdown, featuring multiple momentum swings. The Yetis jumped on the board early with Austyn Dixon's solo home run in the first inning. After a brief scoring lull, CCC extended their lead in the third on Sayge Strange's RBI double.

However, Kaskaskia responded with a massive six-run fourth inning, capitalizing on key hits from Emma Janning, Ava Adcock, and Gracie Philpot. The Blue Angels took a 6-2 lead, but it was short-lived. CCC answered immediately in the bottom half with four runs, powered by another Dixon double that cleared the bases.

With the game tied heading into the sixth, CCC surged ahead for good. Sara Rose Warlick and Sayge Strange delivered key hits before Christian Beaver crushed a two-run homer, sealing the 10-6 victory.

The Blue Angels fought back in the fifth, stringing together back-to-back RBI doubles from Adcock and Janning to take a 2-1 lead.

With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, the Yetis mounted a final rally. Kassie Swink scored on a defensive miscue, and with the game tied, Christian Beaver delivered the walk-off hit, driving in Austyn Dixon to seal the 3-2 comeback victory.
