Yetis Cross Country Team Finishes 38th at NJCAA National Meet
Richmond, VA - The Yetis Cross Country team capped off their season with a solid performance at the NJCAA National Championships, held Saturday, November 9, at Pole Green Park in Richmond, VA. Competing against some of the best runners in the nation, the team finished 38th overall, marking a strong end to the year.
On the men's side, Nehemiah Garcia led the charge, crossing the finish line in 28:01 in the 8K race. His time helped anchor the team's efforts, showcasing both his endurance and determination.
In the women's 5K race, the Yetis saw standout performances as well. Leilanni Delano set a new personal best with a time of 24:37, while Carley Evans and Haley Olvera both ran their fastest times of the season. Evans posted a time of 28:10, followed closely by Olvera at 28:28.
The team's efforts at the national meet reflect their hard work and growth throughout the season, setting a strong foundation for future success. While they didn't break into the top rankings, the Yetis can hold their heads high, knowing they gave it their all on the national stage.
