NJCAA Region 10 Cross Country Meet
Shelby, NC—The NJCAA Region 10 Cross Country Meet took place on Saturday, October 26, at Cleveland Community College's North Campus, showcasing some of the finest talent in collegiate cross country. With teams from Southwest Virginia, Patrick & Henry, Louisburg, Northeastern Tech, Gaston, USC Sumter, Central Carolina, and the host school, Cleveland, the atmosphere was electric as athletes took to the course under clear blue skies.
On the men's side, Louisburg College claimed the title, demonstrating their dominance in the region. Patrick & Henry Community College finished strong in second place, while Cleveland Community College took third. The depth of talent in the men's races was evident, with each team showcasing their best athletes.
The women's competition was fierce, with Gaston College securing first place with a stellar performance. Cleveland Community College followed closely, taking second, while Louisburg College rounded out the top three. The results highlight the growing competitiveness of the women's teams in the region.
Among the individual performers, Cleveland Community College's Nehemiah Garcia and Leilanni Delano were standout athletes. Both were selected for the All Region 10 team, an honor that highlights their exceptional performances throughout the season.
Leilanni Delano shone particularly bright today, running a personal best time of 25:57 in the 5K race. Her dedication and hard work were evident as she crossed the finish line, leading her team and earning recognition as one of the top runners in the region.
