Yetis Shine at Davidson College Meet with Record-Breaking Performances
Davidson, NC — It was a standout weekend for the Cleveland Community College Yetis Track & Field team as they delivered several highlight performances at this weekend's meet at Davidson College.
Leilanni Delano led the charge with a record-breaking performance in the women's 400-meter run, clocking in at 1:09, a new school record and an improvement over her previous best. Delano also achieved a personal milestone in the 800-meter run, finishing with a time of 2:56.
In a historic moment for the program, CCC fielded its first-ever 4x400-meter relay team. The quartet of Hunter Cruise, Johnathan Davis, Marty Lovingood, and Noah Rollins made up the inaugural relay squad, marking another major step forward in the growth of the Yetis' track program.
Johnathan Davis continued his record-breaking streak, lowering his own school record in the men's 400-meter run for the second consecutive meet. Davis crossed the line at 50.33 seconds, further establishing himself as one of the top athletes on the roster.
The Yetis will return to competition on April 11–12 at Lenoir-Rhyne University for the Southside Power & Fitness Invitational.
The momentum continues to build for this young but ambitious program as the team eyes more milestones and strong performances in the weeks ahead.
