Bio

In his first year as head coach, Grigg led the Yetis to a 34-17 overall record and a 18-8 record in the Region 10 West Division. The 34 wins set a new school record for wins in a single season.

Prior to becoming head coach, Grigg spent the 2021-2022 season as the pitching coach for Cleveland Community College, leading them to new school records in strikeouts, ERA, and strikeouts per nine innings. Grigg was also the pitching coach as well in 2022-2023 where he led them to setting a new school record for ERA. 

In his two years at Cleveland Community College, 17 pitchers have moved on to play at the next level with 2 of them being all-region selections.

Since 2021, the Yetis have had 34 guys move on to play at the next level with 5 of them being Division 1 schools.

Grigg spent his playing days at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC. During his time at LR, Grigg made 27 starts on the mound with a 13-9 overall record, striking out 141 batters, with a 4.06 career ERA, and a career .227 batting average against him.

In 2018, Grigg earned a First Team All-SAC award. In that year Grigg made 13 starts and had an overall record of 8-3, struck out 73 batters, with a 3.89 ERA.

Coach Grigg graduated from Burns HS in Lawndale, NC. He received a Bachelors in Sports Management along with a Masters in Leadership from Lenoir-Rhyne University. He currently resides in Shelby, NC.
