Baseball wins 2-1 against Patrick & Henry

In a doubleheader matchup between Cleveland Community College splits with Patrick & Henry Community College on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

In the first game, Patrick & Henry dominated with an 11-1 win over Cleveland. Cleveland struggled to get their offense going, managing only two hits in the game. Patrick & Henry, on the other hand, had a strong offensive showing with 13 hits, including home runs by D. Grabowski and Ka. Abrisz. C. McCoy and J. Pokorak also contributed with three RBIs each.

In the second game, Cleveland bounced back with a 4-1 victory over Patrick & Henry. Joel Gardner was the standout performer for Cleveland, hitting a three-run homer to lead his team to victory. Jackson Gowan pitched eight strong innings, allowing only one run, while Ryder Wagenknec and Jack Nash closed out the game effectively.

Overall, it was a split series between the two teams, with Patrick & Henry taking the first game and Cleveland responding with a win in the second game. 

In the third game of the baseball matchup on Sunday, April 28, 2024, Cleveland came out on top with a final score of 6-4. The game was a close battle with both teams putting up a fight until the very end.

Cleveland started off strong, holding Patrick & Henry scoreless for the first five innings. However, Patrick & Henry made a comeback in the sixth and eighth innings, scoring a total of four runs. Despite their efforts, it wasn't enough to secure the win.

Cleveland's offense was led by Ben Hodge, who had a standout performance with two hits and three RBIs. Dalton Chapman also contributed with three hits, while Josh Morgan added a home run to the mix. On the pitching side, George Tripplet put in a solid performance, allowing only three runs over seven innings.

On the other side, Patrick & Henry's offense was led by D. Grabowski and J. Bullock, who each had key RBIs in the game. Despite their efforts, they fell short in the end.

Overall, it was an exciting game that showcased the talent and determination of both teams. Cleveland Community College came out victorious this time, but both teams showed great skill and sportsmanship throughout the game.
